  discovered this little nugget in yesterday's times (uk broadsheet).... .

  the journalist seems to have done enough homework to see through the wt spin and rattle the jw guides and visitors - "what?

  London explosions

  just heard there's been at least two explosions in central london - one on the underground and a double decker.. don't know if any here are from round those parts or have family there - if so, hope all are ok. .

  Evidence for the Exodus?

  one for the historians here...

  was round visiting my jw mother and bro (who stays with my folks when he's in the area working) the other night.

  the conversation swung round to a documentary they'd been watching on video earlier that evening, supposedly putting forward all sorts of archaeological evidence for the exodus, including coral-encrusted remains of chariots at the bottom of the red sea, no less.

  Apostate Or Not? (Intro/Help!)

  i've been a long-time lurker and very occasional poster (it took me months just to make it to junior member) on this board but never got round to introducing myself properly, so i've decided to make a fresh start with a new persona - my potted biog's on 'personal experiences', if you're that interested, lol .

  anyway, to put things as briefly as possible... i was born into the wt through my mother (30+ yrs.

  baptised); never made it as far as baptism (thank god), though i did make one concerted effort about 10 years ago when i was living away from my home town which was rejected on the grounds of insufficient hours - although i was regular, i didn't always make 'the ten' - i always found door-knocking a huge struggle... .

  Formal Introductions

  i've been lurking around this place for a good long while now, and i've even posted now and again under another handle, but i thought i'd start afresh and 'do it right' this time by making with the formal introductions.

  i was going to post this in the friends forum, but i'm a little bit shy for that (it took me many months to make it as far as junior member - that's how shy i am, lol).. anyway, my story... i was born into the wt - my mother's been a baptised jw for over 30 years now, and my dad's been what i like to call a 'camp follower' for the same length of time - although the wt nearly did for me right at the start - there were complications prior to the birth which put mine and my mother's life in danger involving the blood issue (how an org which preaches against abortion and even the 'morning after pill' can effectively sanction the death of an unborn child and its mother for want of a transfusion is an outstanding piece of doublethink that never ceases to astonish me...).

  my three older sibs (all wee ones when my mother was 'assimilated') went their way and did the 'sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll' thing for varying lengths of time (they're all now 'reassimilated'), while i remained the 'good boy' *slaps self round the head* .
